analysis of audio media products

My audio media product report will be based around showing why and how different products are made and distributed. The AMP's i will be analyzing are: Charlie Sloth's Slothpod, HatChat,

Purpose
The purpose of audio media products that i selected is to entertain and inform the listener in many different ways.

Good: easy to follow
Bad: Could have wrote a bit more
Improvement:  Explain in more detail how you know what their purpose is.

purpose redraft

the purpose of the audio media product that I selected is mainly to entertain like the "slothpod" that does not focus on the important things that happen in the world but they concentrate on the news that are important to the show like the "slothpod" concentrates on music news and messes around to entertain the viewer.and the HatChat discusses recent news and makes them fun. This is also made to entertain

what factors will effect the quality of productions?

Radio Programming Proposal

Three’s a Crowd.

Name or title of program: Three’s a Crowd.

Length of show: 30 minutes.

Genre or type of program:
Comedy – This will bring an audience who enjoy comedy, and enjoy jokes and humour.
News – This will bring people who like to hear the news in an untraditional way.

Brief description / synopsis: Our comedy view on the news, this is beneficial for listeners in two ways. The first being that we provide the news, this is what listeners like as it informs them on happenings in the world. However we also add a comedy twist to it which means it is delivered in a way that would interest people more than a traditional news program would. We will promote local bands and some weeks interview them.

Production method:  Live  Recorded  Both

Target audience
Time of day: It could come out any time between 6:00 and 8:30
Day(s) of the week: Monday and Thursday
Intended age of audience: 16 to 21
Other target details: We aim to hit A,B,C1 males of the local area.

Show Presenters/Hosts
# of Hosts: 3
Name/Descriptions of hosts:William Taher, will find news and out talking subjects.
William Kirby, is going to find the music.
Andrey Yushin, will edit the show.

Equipment: 3x Headphones, 3x voice recorders, recording studio and a computer with editing software.
Location: UTC Sheffield.

time (recording and editing): Up to 10 hours editing a week, recording and uploading will all be done in this time. It will be in perfect uploading condition, in a way everyone who is involved is happy with the AMP.
Additional information

Content of show (items, features and articles): It will consist of news articles that we can explore in a comedic way, and leave no one offended.

Examples of questions and issues to be raised for interviews: There will be few specific questions, just topic starters to get the guests talking. Example of questions are;
What do you think of (the news article)

Styles of music to be used: We will use local bands of all genres.

Will your program use advertising to make a profit?    Yes  ✔️ No   Maybe

Additional Details:  It is only advertising to help fund the music and other licenses we will need.

Profits/Costs

Costs: Our cost are mainly made up from our PRS licence, £240 (including tax.) per annual. With additional 15p per song, we play 2 songs per show this means we will have to pay £31.20. As we are not paying for the equipment as we already have it or it wont cost us to borrow. This will be the maximum as we wont alway play copyrighted music as we will promote local bands. Our total costs are £271.20 per annual.

Revenue: We will have two 30 second advert per week this means we will have 104 advertisements per year at £27 per ad, this means will make £2,808 per annual.

Profit:

£2,808 - £31.20 = £2776.8

We don't pay tax on this as our overall gross is under £10,00

As we are non-profit organisations our money will got to the community and making the show better.

LO5 Progress and Future report.

I think our show is ready to record as we have completed all of the preparation work.

I think that the future developments to the show are to complete the script and record the show itself.

LO5 Feedback

Here is feedback on my presentation .

1.       The content of the show was actually unclear, this needs to be made more clear as this is what the client will buy.
2.       The pitch promised a large amount of content produced in very short time frames, think carefully about how much output you are promising.
3.       There seemed to be confusion in the group as to who was responsible for what in pitching.
4.       The group pitch was fragmented which made the content of the show hard to decipher.
5.       The show itself would communicate with a small section of the community in Sheffield, but this was not mentioned explicitly
6.       Definitions of the events and topics covered would be needed.

LO4 Pitch Experience

I think that our pitch of the radio show went well but was a little too short. I think we did the presentation with confidence but we read from he script instead of learning it.

I feel like we put our point forward well and stated everything in the pitch.

LO3 Consideration of the gap in the market

A4

The Product is different and would stand out because it would not only tell the Global news but would also tell the local and small news from around the world.

The show will be played at 4.00 - 4.30 as this is the average time when young people will be traveling home from school/ work.

Three's a crowd

The Product is different from others as it will discuss more than the local and global news as we will discuss less known "fun" news as well. The show will also play a wide range of music including local and widely known bands and artists.

The show will be uploaded in podcast form anytime between 6.00 - 8.30. as this is late enough in the day for people to enjoy it while relaxing at home.
